How MDPSync Started
Michael Pierce started writing code at Dartmouth College in the early '80s, on BASIC at a timeshare terminal. He served in the military as a computer programmer with NORAD and NSA, then worked as a senior engineer, an engineering manager, and a CTO, four decades of enterprise systems, consulting platforms, and data pipelines that include Dynamics 365 programs for state Departments of Transportation.
He came to AI coding as a skeptic early in 2026. A week spent rebuilding his brother's rock music site with Claude became The Rock Cave, and MDPSync now teaches the plans, review gates, and test discipline from that week as its methodology. Haunts, the check-in platform he built the same way, has more than 100 daily active users and over a million check-ins.
